August started and that means Blaugust started too, right on the day I need to go to the countryside with my family, now I’m finally in bed with my laptop to write this post. A bit of a scuffed beginning for this marathon, but it is what it is, unfortunate timing of IRL plans and there will be more of these timings during the month too. At least next times I hope I will get some posts prepared in advance, this time due to all the tech issues I was dealing with last couple of days I couldn’t prepare much, so we are doing it live. I guess that’s kinda fitting for my livestreamer life and I also didn’t want to skip the very first day of the marathon. Have to say time pressure and challenging myself already works, need to fight procrastination and perfectionism.
Tomorrow will be another tricky day to find time to post, potentially there might be none, because I’ll need to catch an early bus, then train, then get my setup ready to stream and after the stream my friends will arrive. Will only have time at night and then it depends on how tired I will be and how much beer will be consumed with friends. At least it’s not gonna be the first day of Blaugust, so missing and catching up later won’t feel too bad. Will try to post daily, except for those busy days, which will hopefully have some posts planned in advance or in case of tomorrow I will have some day with more than one post.
This post will be also for myself, to write down some ideas for future posts:
- Introducing myself. Obvious one, even though it’s funny how being live almost daily for over 8 years I never really had a proper introduction.
- Streaming related posting. While not being a massive content creator I do it full time for living for that long so I do have some knowledge about the topic. Probably not just posting from streamer POV, but in general about that world, old man yells at clouds and all that.
- Videogames related posts. Maybe some reviews even, but also more old man yells at clouds kind of posting on the state of industry, gamedev related stuff (dipped the tip of my toe into it and would love to do more) and so on. Recently got into new MMO that is inspired heavily by another MMO from my childhood, so I do have a lot to say about both and MMOs in general (reminder that I did learn about Blaugust from MMO news site).
- Travel blogging. For 3 years now I’m on the move regularly and did travel a lot of places, most of which not just as a regular tourist, but living in other countries for a while, immersing myself in them. A lot of stories to share that might be useful, photos to show and something to come back to read in the future to remember it.
- Life blogging. Some of my most popular and engaging posts in the past with my community were the ones about some personal stuff, some struggles, and other things that others can often relate and maybe find something helpful in my experiences.
- Talking books. Well probably just one and this is also to hopefully push me into finishing it, because I’m slacking a lot with reading recently compared to all the book reviews I posted before. Pre-2022 world was different and everything is much harder after (you will understand why after my introduction post probably).
- Specific post that falls under multiple already mentioned categories, but it’s something I planned for my stream content and I could use the written format, since I’d need notes anyway. Planned to talk about streaming day to day scheduling, expenses, incomes. Just a bit of raw numbers and information for people to get an idea about how things work. I feel like nowadays a lot of people base their idea of influencers and content creators on a very small subset of massive ones that absolute majority of people never become.
Something like this, guess there might be solid amount of topics to cover this month, I do like ranting about things, so prepare for that. If this list or at least something there seems interesting, then tune in throughout the month!
