As you know recently I’m enjoying some quality Eurojank RPGs and one can say I’m enjoying it way too much to the point it became sorta LIDL Jankathon currently and I’m not planning to stop.
Gothic 1 done, Gothic 2 in progress, ELEX in progress, Cyberpunk 2077 (I mean it is euro and very jank, so we can put it in Eurojank already too, right?) in progress. What’s next for Jankathon and when it might end in full post…
First of all there is pretty much no big releases that are interesting to me coming up until April-May, except Nioh 2 PC release that is pretty soon, but I won’t be done with current games until then most likely even + it is already out for a while anyway, so kinda no rush with it. Another somewhat interesting thing that might take a couple of days maximum will be end of February for Outriders demo that I might check, but we’ll see about that.
That means until April, which is full release of Outriders again and that might be not even for me, then it’s already until end of April/early May, there is nothing really planned for me and that means backlog time. Will I do Jankathon through all that time? Hard to predict it that far, but I think I’ll be doing it as long as I’m feeling it, because that brings best streams for everyone involved.
What else I would want to play through in Jankathon? Probably Gothic 3 after I’m done with 2 to get some kind of closure for this series of games, other games are currently open, gonna see what I feel like playing after I’m done with some of the current stuff. Options that I have outside of Gothic 3 currently: Risen (that’s more of Piranha Bytes masterpieces, so I might wait with that), Arcania (also somewhat in line with Gothic), Two Worlds games (recommended by chat, don’t think I’ve heard a lot about them, might be interesting and something different), Technomancer (game from Spiders who made Greedfall, less successful one compared to Greedfall too). People suggested more games from Spiders too, so I’d say we are totally loaded for this Jankathon no problems, just need to see what I will feel like playing. Also, I’m taking suggestions on some good janky stuff always, if not this Jankathon, then some other time, because it won’t be last one, until we run out of good jank and then hopefully mods and new janky gems will arrive.
To sum it up, Jankathon will continue at least until Nioh 2 is out on 5th of February, but most likely longer, probably around 2 weeks at least to finish current games, but if I’ll feel like more jank to prioritize over Nioh and some indie games then it might go way longer. Really enjoying playing and streaming RPGs currently, so gonna keep going while it lasts and even if it will start going slower with RPGs, there will still be RPG Monday going on, even though I might take a break with it for a bit if I’ll burn out of RPGs after going ham.
