As I mentioned, more new games that I couldn’t fit in my Friday segment spilled to Saturday stream. Just two games though, so not a big post here
Breathedge 2

Got early review access from the publisher, so trying it before it releases next week. With first game I had a complicated relationship – I started playing when it first release in Early Access with just the first chapter available and while humour was a bit hit or miss, I still enjoyed it. Later they released chapter two update and you needed to restart your run to play it – went through chapter one pretty fast and while second one was good initially, it became a bit of a slog. When game released content complete I would need to restart the run again and while chapter one was fine, replaying chapter two (it was two+three iirc, was a part of game’s humour) was a bit nope for me. So I never did a full playthrough of first game and even now I don’t really feel like it. I played the demo of the second game and it did feel alright, but it did feel a bit off somehow. Now playing Early Access version it does feel better than the demo, except there was a bit of an overload moment when game drops all the quests and objectives on you. Once you sort out initial quests and get a hang of local tools and resources it feels better. Early Access release once again, so it’s not content complete and I don’t know how much of it is in this current build, but I’m not going to make the same mistake as with the first game. Will probably play some more on Monday and chill until future updates. Performance is good on my machine, visuals are good, humour is still hit or miss, voice acting might be not everyone’s cup of tea, but overall seems nice so far.
Overtrick

I never played Bridge, as in card game, this game introduced me to it with roguelike Balatro inspired take. We actually have a similar card game, but it seems more fun to me rules wise, but that’s about Bridge, not about Overtrick. Not gonna explain Bridge rules here (I’m also not the right person to do it after only playing digitized altered version), but it’s that + passive bonuses you pick up and active special cards you pick up and use. Every time you win you get +1 score, you need to pass the threshold score for the encounter to advance (like Balatro), so you need passives to increase your score gain through some gimmicks. Win-streaks giving +1 score to every win, winning last round giving x3 score, winning with specific card in play giving x4 score. Special active cards allow you to bend rules and change order of players or play any card disregarding the suit for example. Game is pretty nice, even though the fact that you play against opponents adds an extra layer of RNG and makes special plays to gain bonus score quite hard to pull off. Probably skill issue and requires more practice though, especially since I did almost won against second group of opponents on my first run. Nice card roguelike, I assume especially if you like Bridge.
Now more new stuff next week, I did have some games with embargos dropping in September to cover. For now more Stars Reach, SpiritVale and a bit more Breathedge 2.
