Morning was a little busy, so a bit of a late planning post today. This week again two days off, this time with a bit weird timings – Tuesday and Thursday, I just have appointments both days that are a bit tricky to mix with streaming due to scheduling. At least not super lengthy appointments, but I plan to combine it with meeting my friends and family, so it’s still going to be quite a lot of time considering train rides.
Main goal this week is to catch up or at least to get closer to the blog posting plan, will hopefully get double posts on my day offs and in perfect case on some other day too. There is still potential to miss one or two days of posting due to some activities with friend on the last week of August, so I need to catch up and maybe even get some extra posts soon.
Streaming-wise pretty loaded week, started it today with trying Cralon, new game from original Gothic devs, a bit rough, but interesting. Really nice dev team members tuning in, subbing, gathering feedback and just hanging out in chat while I was playing, you love to see it. Other days will all have at least some new games on the menu. I’ll be playing Stars Reach, new MMO by Raph Koster (author of one of the most recommended game design books and one of the creators of Star Wars: Galaxies and Ultima Online), at least I want to try it, then we’ll see. I have some fresh indies to play and even one little sponsored stream, that was supposed to be today, but they are having some troubles with their Steam release, so we are postponing it. Obviously SpiritVale is also around and not going anywhere, so will be grinding it whenever there is a moment to do so. Already want to move to Armenia and to go crazy with streaming and gaming, but for now still some time to enjoy summer with friends and family.
Got one super secret gaming related thing going this week (one of the appointments) that I will be able to talk about at the end of August, first time participating in such a high profile secret thing, really exciting. Stay tuned closer to the end of this month for the reveal, obviously won’t be exclusive to me to talk about it, but still!
Ragnarok Zero Global releases tomorrow, but it’s locked in some regions and even with VPN it showed region lock + it’s subscription based while I have great substitute in SpiritVale already with no extra expenses. I do want to try it, most likely to just rant about its monetization and autohunt being implemented, but since they region locked it too hard I guess whatever. Feels like SpiritVale already scratched my RO itch quite well and I’m not feeling a lot of excitement about any Ragnarok Online at the moment. Stars Reach is also an MMO, so if I will end up liking it I will already have two MMOs to juggle on top of regular games, adding third one especially with subscription sounds like a bad decision all around. I think on release it’s also just 2-1 jobs, so my favourite Monk and some other classes are not available. I still will try to get in a bit more, but chances are low.
Posting plans are still more or less the same, I did post about Gothic last week and started talking about Ragnarok Online and other MMOs, but still gonna do one about SpiritVale for sure and probably one about Stars Reach. Talking about my First Look games in my weekly report posts, probably should make it a separate post type and go a bit deeper with every game, but some weeks aren’t very packed with new games.
IRL plans outside of usual stuff is to hang out with friends some, especially since one of them got two weeks of vacation and his birthday is this Saturday. Already got one plan rejected and looks like gathering on Saturday also might be not possible since he’s leaving to relatives. Trying to gather a bunch of uncs pushing forty is pretty hard nowadays, even though none of us have families and a lot of them constantly complain that we don’t go cool places and don’t do interesting stuff. Trying to suggest something interesting or cool – always some excuse. Well at least I sure am living quite an interesting life with all my travels, so I’m good already and not missing out on anything.
