Well, the pace of posting was great for the first half of the week, but then another birthday (or 3 simultaneously) hit so hard I missed 3 days, catching up will continue then. At least it should get more chill until the end of this month, but friend got his 2 weeks of vacation starting tomorrow, so I bet there will be something to disrupt my plans still (and 1 more birthday).
Streaming was more consistent than posting, but that’s my years long habit – 2 days off, will be norm for a while now. Did get a couple of late stream starts, main problem was me somehow ordering wrong pigtail cables to connect antenna to modems, ended up wasting time to get decent connection in the countryside. Tried 2 modems, 2 Android phones, different placements (sadly short extender for USB, modems in a better spot would do good I think), ended up again yoinking mom’s iPhone and perfect connection to stream (I tried same ISP and 1 more). People love the background views in the summer house, want to go again with the right cables/longer extender and stay there longer while streaming as usual.
Finished Gothic Remake this week, wrote a little review post. Did get more SpiritVale progress, this review is still waiting. Did more first look segments:
Sandustry – another banger published by my friends at Hooded Horse. Factorio with Terraria angle and with all the physical simulations that work really well with loads of sand we need to process. Starting manually, automating, finding more different production chains, all to get as much gold as possible. Really liked all the physical shenanigans in the game, actually quite new to Factorio-ish games and this one feels pretty good.

HellSlave 2 – dark stylish turn-based RPG. Great art and a lot of visual details, combat system that allows some crazy builds and combinations. Instead of action points you manage time and can plan how and when to use skills and spells to take less and deal more damage. Started on Normal to give it a go and ended up with a build that just demolished everything so far including “bosses”, too early to judge, but if you like challenge go for higher difficulty probably.

Defender of the Crown – remake of the old classics, so old that even I am too young to know it. Really interesting approach to remaking it, you have classic old game adjusted to modern resolutions, nothing else changed and you have modernized version with new controls and updated mechanics. If that is not enough there is also a third mode that turns the game into the roguelike deckbuilder. So you get 3 games in 1 pretty much. Can see where the complaints are coming from, but I still did enjoy it, besides retro part is there already as it was so that’s already pretty good, rest is a bonus.
